Student Guidelines and Responsibilities
1. Students are expected to behave in a manner consistent with Christian values and manners. Cooperation, respect, and a willingness to learn are qualities that are expected of each individual involved with PREP. Inappropriate behavior is not acceptable.
2. All students are to respect others. Bullying and harassment of others are not acceptable behaviors.
3. Students are expected to respect the property and belongings of others. Vandalism and any theft will not be tolerated.
4.Students are expected to arrive at class on time each week. They are also expected to bring their textbook, pencil or pen, and any other materials requested by their Catechist.
5.Students are expected to enter and leave the building in an orderly manner. Students are expected to follow the regulations designated for entering and leaving the building. They must always be cautious when crossing the parking area and abide by the regulations given for a safe and orderly dismissal. Parents are required to come into the gym to get their child(ren). Students are not permitted to run out to the parking lot unescorted.
6.Students may enter the classroom only when a teacher and/or aide is present in the classroom. Otherwise, the students wait in the gym. Students should remain quiet while walking in the hallways so as not to disturb other classes.
7.Cell Phone Policy: Cell phones and Smart Watches are to be used before and after class, never during class. If they become a disruption in the classroom, Catechists will hold them until class is over.
8.Eating, drinking, or chewing gum is not permitted in any of the buildings. All sweatshirt hoods should be removed when walking into the gym.
9. Smoking, alcohol, drugs, weapons, or other illegal materials are not permitted on parish property.
10. In the event of a fire or fire drill, students will follow directions posted in each classroom and exit in an orderly and quiet manner. We will also have a Shelter in Place Drill.
11. Students are expected to use the bathroom facilities before class starts.
In the event a student engages in any of the above-listed behaviors or any other inappropriate conduct, and has failed to respond to a catechist’s attempt to stop or correct the behavior, the following action may be taken at the discretion of the Pastor or Director of Religious Education: 1. Parents will receive an email or phone call. 2. If behaviors continue to be disruptive, the student will be suspended for 1 week. This includes CYO sports. 3. If behaviors continue after that, suspension for the rest of the academic year, resulting in repeating that grade.
No child will be denied access to Religious Education for financial reasons.
If tuition is a hardship for your family please contact Mrs. Beth Dougherty for assistance.
In the case of an emergency, I give permission to the Director of Religious Education or authorized personnel to carry out any first aid treatment deemed necessary for the well being of my child/children.
