Foundations in Charity for the Catholic Charities of Fairfield County

Foundations in Charity raises and distributes funds to support the programs of Catholic Charities providing aid to the neediest in our county, currently serving five core missions of Catholic Charities:

- The Food Insecurity Mission supports programs addressing the larger issues of hunger and food insecurity throughout Fairfield County, including the Morning Glory Breakfast Program in Danbury, the Thomas Merton Center in Bridgeport, the New Covenant Center in Stamford, and senior nutrition programs such as Meals on Wheels and Senior Community Cafes.
- The Housing Mission supports programs combatting homelessness and housing insecurity throughout Fairfield County. Programs supported include Catholic Charities’ homeless outreach program, as well as case management services for those seeking permanent housing.
- The Wellness and Mental Health Mission supports programs addressing mental health and mental illness management. Programs supported include the Community Support Program for adults in the Danbury area, the New Heights wellness and recovery center for adults with mental illnesses, and affordable mental health counseling and programs in Danbury and East Norwalk.
- The Inclusion Mission supports programs providing immigration help. Through Catholic Charities’ immigration services program, newcomers to the United States can seek legal counsel and representation for immigration-related matters in Bridgeport, Norwalk, and Stamford.
- The Family Support Mission supports programs that provide family support. Programs supported include the Family Directions adoption program, Room to Grow Preschool in Norwalk, and the Family Loan Programs in Norwalk and Danbury.

Foundations in Charity is a 501(c)(3) providing financial support to Catholic Charities of Fairfield County, also a 501(c)(3). These collaborative entities are working together to sustain and grow the works of charity in the Diocese of Bridgeport through solicitation of operational funds and endowment growth.
