Charity and Stewardship Appeal - 2026

The Charity and Stewardship Appeal is the annual appeal of the Diocese of Lincoln. First established in 1971 by Bishop Flavin as the Diocesan Development Program (D.D.P.), the appeal has provided for many of the needs of the diocese, especially Catholic Education. Under Bishop Bruskewitz, the annual appeal was given a new name, the Charity and Stewardship Appeal.  Under his and Bishop Conley's care, the appeal continues to support numerous apostolates.

This year’s theme, “You are the hope!”, is drawn from a recent address of Pope Leo, who reminded the faithful at a parish in the Diocese of Rome that the future of the Church rests in the hearts and lives of her people today. Hope is not simply a sentiment; it is the living presence of Christ carried forward through faithful disciples.

While not all are called to leave everything behind as Paul and Barnabas once did, every member of the Church is called to participate in the work of evangelization. The Charity & Stewardship Appeal provides the resources that make this possible – forming children in our Catholic schools, strengthening young adults in their faith, and supporting ministries that bring Christ’s mercy to families, the vulnerable, and those on the margins.
