Welcome the World. Welcome the Stranger

Over the past several months, Most Reverend Edward J. Burns has been leading the charge to inspire the Diocese of Dallas to welcome soccer fans to North Texas in 2026. Our focus has been on visiting players, pilgrims, and local parishes as the goal of our Welcome the World, Welcome the Stranger initiative is to connect and support fellow Catholics by providing hospitality, information about local sacrament opportunities, and tangible reminders of this historic event.

HOW YOU CAN HELP.

In order to achieve the vision of the Diocese of Dallas to truly Welcome the World, Welcome the Stranger, we need your help.

Bishop Burns has asked that we provide all travelers and partner parishes with a tangible memory of their time visiting here in DFW. To do this, our team has several initiatives to make this happen.

With your support as a Welcome the World, Welcome the Stranger donor, the Diocese will be able to provide:

A kickoff event at the National Shrine Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, a welcome Mass with a reception honoring visiting teams, pilgrims, and partner parishes.
A procession of flags representing each country for the welcome Mass at the kickoff event.
Rosaries, Holy Water, Prayer Cards, Info Guides, Special Wristbands, and the packets to gift to our pilgrims and parishioners in our Welcome the World, Welcome the Stranger Pilgrim Packs.
