Wow! Praise God
Thanks to all who made this Giving Tuesday such a great success!
More donations are coming in via cash and check, we will keep you posted.
Have a blessed and Holy Advent Season!
All donations will not only help with the sound absorption panels but also be used exclusively for sound and AV improvements in the church.
Those attending Mass in-person know all too well that the sound in church continues to be a challenge; like trying to tame a tiger which is bouncing off the walls.
After completing an acoustical study several years ago, we updated our sound equipment. This solved many of our sound problems, but did not help with the 3+ second echo (aka tiger) which exists in our church .
Help us to complete the final acoustical study recommendation and more: The installation of sound absorption materials throughout the church in the first priority.
The cost estimate for the absorption panels alone is close to $20,000 and that estimate is a few years old. Due to installation costs we are anticipating a total project cost of over $30,000.
More money may be needed for other "tweaks" here and there as we "tame the tiger" but the panels are hopefully the final step in that area.
A generous parishioner has come forward and is challenging the parish, and presenting all of us with a great opportunity by agreeing to match the total of all donations made, up to the amount of $25,000!
In other words, if the total donations made equals $25,000 or more, they will contribute $25,000 (if the total donations made equals $15,000 they will donate $15,000.
This is a great blessing and opportunity for us to finally "tame the tiger" running wild in our extremely active worship space. The project goal is to find a happy medium where the spoken word can be heard clearly and the singing voice enjoyed.
We need your help in raising these funds and the sky is the limit!
Today only, December 1st, 100% of all the donations contributed via this Giving Tuesday web portal go toward the purchase and installation of the needed sound absorption panels and other sound improvements; and there will be no Archdiocese assessment applied to these funds!
All other donations for the sound absorption materials and improvements (those made outside the web portal and those made on other days) will also be used toward this project now and into the future; but will be treated as regular donations and be assessed accordingly.
Whether you give monetarily through a donation or spiritually through prayer, all gifts are needed and greatly appreciated!
God bless you for helping us to help others "hear clearly" at church.
