St. Athanasius Partnering with Local Restaurants to Serve Staff at Local Hospitals

St. Athanasius has started delivering meals to staff at local hospitals. We have entered into partnerships with several local restaurants to split the cost of the food. Lover the past three weeks, we have partnered with Chick-Fil-A, Dengeo’s, Great Harvest, Mustard’s Last Stand, Potbelly and Subway to deliver 690 meals to Evanston and Glenbrook Hospitals. A huge thanks to Ernie Singh and Monica Robertson for organizing this effort.

How you can help: First, please thank the restaurants that have generously donated food during this difficult time. We are truly grateful. Second, we could use your financial support to keep providing meals.

The current goal is to deliver meals twice a week. While the restaurants are very generously donating some of the food, that amount will not feed all the health care workers at those facilities. St. A’s needs $800 a week to cover our half of the food cost. If you have the financial ability to help, you can donate to the St. A’s COVID fund by clicking here: or texting COVID to (847) 221-6237. All contributions are tax deductible.

St. A’s Café Providing Meals to the Homeless

The St. A’s Café is continuing to provide its monthly dinner for the homeless. Due to the COVID restrictions, Mike Masini worked with Comida Cantina to cater 120 meals in to-go containers for the guests. This was made possible by generous donations from our community.

The St. A’s Café will be working with Connections for the Homeless to provide meals. The St. A’s Café team want to continue to provide meals (typically 170-180 meals), as they are financially able, all catered by local restaurants.

How you can help: If you would like to financially support the St. A’s Café to provide meals to the homeless, you can donate to the St. A’s Café COVID relief fund by clicking here: or texting HOMELESS to (847) 221-6237. All contributions are tax deductible.
