Foundations in Faith is committed to revitalizing Pastoral Ministries in the Diocese of Bridgeport. Living and growing our Catholic faith as individuals and as a community is reliant upon our Parishes, our Priests, our Seminarians, and our Faith Formation programs. As we embark on our journey of discipleship, we evangelize by reaching out to others! Faith and fellowship is most sincerely embraced when we walk with those most vulnerable in our midst whether in special need or in nursing care. - St. John Paul II Fund for Religious Education:
Recognizing the importance of teaching our faith in Religious Education programs and through Youth Ministry to teens and underserved groups in our Parishes, this fund provides yearly grants for innovative approaches to Faith Formation.
- St. Charles Borromeo Fund for Seminarians and Vocations:
This fund assists with the education and formation of seminarians in the Diocese of Bridgeport, both at the St John Fisher Seminary for Diocesan young men and at the Redemptoris Mater Seminary supporting the mission of the Neocathachumenal Way here in the Diocese.
- St. John Vianney Fund for Retired Priests:
Our long-serving priests rely on the support of the generosity of the people of the Diocese for much of their care and support. This fund enables a strong support system for those who have served us over so many years.
- St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Fund to keep Catholic School Tuition Affordable:
This fund provides special resources to Catholic schools in order to keep tuition increases low so that our schools are accessible and affordable to as many young people as possible.
- St. Francis Xavier Fund for Mission Churches:
The mission of this fund is to extend resources to Parishes that are deemed vibrant, exhibiting strong leadership from the Priest and lay community with high levels of parishioner engagement. These Parishes are deemed essential to the life of the Diocese, yet are located in economically stressed areas causing financial difficulties in securing necessary contributions for operational or capital needs.
- St. Catherine Center Fund for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities:
This fund provides educational programs for individuals with disabilities and serves as a centralized resource for the Diocesan community. The Center strives to foster the educational, spiritual and social well-being of children and adults with disabilities offering a school, an adult day program and support for inclusion in parishes and Catholic Schools.
- St. John Bosco Fund for Special Needs Students:
Funding is directed to support programs for children with special educational needs in our Catholic elementary and high schools.
- Lourdes Fund for Spiritual Enrichment in the Catholic Nursing Homes:
Committed to providing spiritual care for those residents who are at the three nursing homes previously owned by the Diocese; St. Joseph Center, St. Camillus Center and St. John Paul II. This fund supports mass and communion services, upkeep of onsite chapels, as well as sacramental and pastoral visits to the elderly residents.
- St. Therese Fund for Evangelization:
Our parishes and schools, as well as all our ministries are in need of innovative approaches and resources to support evangelization as the core of all that we do as a faith community. This fund will allow for the creative and exciting work of sharing our faith.
