Bishop's Appeal for Vocations - 2025
“…Man, who is the only creature on earth which God willed for itself, cannot fully find himself except through a sincere gift of himself” (Gaudium et Spes, 24).
These oft-repeated words from the Second Vatican Council inspired Bishop Conley’s ordination homily this year, in which he stated that “You only have one life to give.” One Life to Give is the theme for this year’s Bishop’s Appeal for Vocations. It calls us to reflect on the sacrificial nature of the priesthood and the laying down of our lives to serve Christ’s Bride.
The young men in the seminary, including 9 new seminarians, are learning from the Master how to lay down their lives, and the Bishop’s Appeal for Vocations supplies the financial support necessary to assist them in this. Since the cost of forming our seminarians is about $1.7 million, this Appeal is an integral part of the future of our Diocese. Thank you for your generosity and commitment to the future of our Diocese!
