Ida's "Flood of Grief" Relief Fund
On September 1, 2021, Hurricane Ida left behind a "Flood of Grief" for us here in NYC. We share a video of the devastation on our YouTube channel here.
We are grateful to our parishioners who were able to help us save what we can by moving things to safety. What cannot be saved must be painstakingly documented and catalogued for insurance purposes before it can be discarded. The premises must then be remediated against mold, and proven safe to inhabit before recovery can begin.
Many of you have experienced similar challenges and even with that, have asked what can be done to help the parish and others recover from the Ida Flood. We've established a special emergency relief fund, and 100% of the proceeds will be used to help the parish and needy families in our community recover from the devastating flood.
Your generosity is so greatly appreciated. We must focus our immediate efforts on recovery and thus may not have the means to thank you individually at this time, but please know that any donation of any amount is helpful, and we will reach out to you with our gratitude once we're back on our feet (on dry land!) again.
You may also easily give from your smartphone by sending the message IDAFLOOD to our text-to-give number 308-300-4848. You'll receive a link to a quick giving page to make a one-time gift.
May God bless and keep you safe,
Father Christopher O'Connor
