Give the Gift of Play This Giving Tuesday
For the children who live at St. Joseph Apartments, the outdoor space behind their buildings is more than a parking lot and patch of grass. It's where they gather after school, race scooters, play games with friends, burn off energy, and create childhood memories.
St. Joseph Apartments, a ministry of Catholic Charities, provides permanent supportive housing for formerly homeless families and individuals. Along with stable, affordable housing, residents receive ongoing support and case management designed to help them build brighter futures.
The children who call St. Joseph Apartments home share a small outdoor area tucked behind the apartment buildings and parking lot. While the space may be small in size, it serves an important purpose. It is their place to play, imagine, laugh, and spend time together. It is the primary outdoor space available to them each day.
This Giving Tuesday, we're raising funds to add new play features that will help transform this area into a more engaging space for children of all ages. These improvements will encourage active play, creativity, social connection, and opportunities for kids to simply enjoy being kids.
