Description

The Diocese of Brooklyn stands in solidarity with the people of Colombia following the
devastating 7 .4-magnitude earthquake that struck western Colombia on August 11, 2026. We offer
our prayers for those who have lost their lives, those who have been injured, and all those who
continue to face the loss of power, water, and other essential resources. We ask God to comfort
and strengthen those affected by this tragedy and to bless the first responders, search-and-rescue
teams, medical professionals, and all those working tirelessly to bring aid and assistance to those
in need.

The monies collected will be sent by our Diocese to Catholic Relief Services (CRS),
for distribution and direct assistance with shelter, food and other humanitarian aid to the affected
in Colombia.
