Description
When a child enters the foster care system because his or her home is no longer safe, a judge may appoint a committed volunteer to help them. That volunteer is called a Court Appointed Special Advocate, or CASA.CASA volunteers are screened and highly trained and then appointed by judges to represent and advocate for a child’s best interests in the child protection system. With so many individuals involved in the life of foster children, having a single, stable, positive adult influence throughout the entirety of their case has immeasurable value and immense opportunity to sustain the children through an incredibly difficult season of life.
Our "Compassion in Action" campaign is seeking to find local individuals and CASA supporters who are willing to support CASA on a monthly (or other recurring) basis. Monthly donations stabilize revenue, sustain funding for volunteer training and other program initiatives, and ensure that the CASA's mission is carried out to it's fullest.
A donor who signs up to give monthly is an absolute treasure to CASA. With a single $50 donation, your gift can fund:
- Completion of Criminal Background checks for ONE new volunteer,
- Volunteer Travel Reimbursement for ONE monthly child visit ONE way,
- Workbooks and training supplies for ONE new volunteer to complete Pre-Service Training,
- Training Meals for TWO new volunteers,
- Materials and refreshments for ONE monthly in-service training, or
- Access to Child/Case Records and a fully protected/encrypted email account for ONE volunteer.
