A strong STEM enrichment program is vital for preparing students to thrive in a world shaped by innovation. By engaging in hands-on learning in science, technology, engineering, and math, students develop critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills that enable them to utilize their God-given talents to serve others and make a positive impact in the world. STEM curricula also encourage students to see the wonder of God’s creation through discovery and innovation. Saint Mary School’s new STEM lab is ready to provide our Saints with STEM enrichment using its new lab, but bringing this vision to life requires resources that go beyond the scope of a standard budget. With the support of fundraising on this Giving Tuesday, we will work with Project Lead the Way’s Gateway program to secure training, materials, and curricula in the areas of design and modeling, automation and robotics, medical detectives, architecture, and computer science for students in 6th-8th grades and the Launch program in grades K-5. Supplemental materials such as snap circuits, Ozobots, and animation kits are also needed to enrich the program. By supporting the launch of a STEM program at SMS, your gift not only equips students with the skills they need to succeed in an ever-changing world, but also ensures they grow in faith, wisdom, and service as future leaders grounded in Gospel values.
