The Chapel at St. Joseph Heights served the Sisters of Notre Dame—and so many others in our Diocese—for generations. Many of us cherish memories of retreats, days of recollection, and the beautiful Masses celebrated there. The chapel was truly a jewel of our Diocese, and nothing shone more radiantly than its beloved stained-glass windows depicting the life of Mary.
Though the Sisters were sadly forced to tear down the chapel, great care was taken to preserve every sacred item, including those magnificent windows. Crafted in Germany by the world-renowned Zettler Studio, each window is a masterpiece. Together, they perfectly complement our own sanctuary, telling the scriptural story of St. Joseph and completing the image of the Holy Family gathered around the worship of Jesus at our altar.
This Giving Tuesday, we want to honor the Sisters of Notre Dame for their decades of faithful service at St. Joe’s by installing their windows in our church as a lasting memorial to their faith and dedication—the very foundation upon which so many of our parishes and schools were built.
We have set an ambitious goal of $350,000. These windows are priceless in their spiritual worth and would cost millions to reproduce today. Please consider making a gift toward this legacy—linking past, present, and future—in gratitude for the Sisters who helped shape our faith community.
