November is dedicated to the Faithful Departed, those who have gone before us marked with the sign of faith, awaiting the glory of the Resurrection. All Souls Day on November 2nd is a special day in the life of the Church as we take time to pray for our deceased family members and friends. As we pray for the repose of the souls, all are invited to submit the names of your loved ones. You will receive one candle for the suggested $15 donation, which you can pick up at the table in the narthex of the church at the end of the Requiem Mass that you attend on Sunday, Nov. 2.
These donations will be sent to our parish St. Vincent de Paul society, which
Through the Sacred Liturgy, the Church invokes the forgiving love and abundant mercy of God, that He may receive all those we remember into His kingdom so they can come to know the fullness of life and peace of Heaven.
Additionally, our music director is arranging a special program with a men's schola singing chant in Latin and English from the traditional Requiem Mass of the Church. It will be a solemn occasion of prayer for the faithful departed and a moment of great beauty where sacred music and liturgy meet to lift our hearts and minds to God. You can also write the names of your loved ones in the Book of the Names of the Dead, which will be available in the Church during November.
