Acclaimed Italian artist, sculptor and coin designer, Chiara Principe, has designed the coin in Rome to reflect the order and this moment in history being celebrated.

The 75^th anniversary medal depicts St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the spiritual home of the Eastern Lieutenancy, with the number 75 intertwined with the cathedral’s soaring spiers. On each side of the cathedral are the years 1951 and 2026. Circling the edge of the medal is “Eastern Lieutenancy of the United States of America.” On the reverse side of the medal is the image of the Jerusalem cross set in front of a representation of the gothic rose window of St. Patrick’s Cathedral symbolizing the historic role the New York has played in the life of the order in the United States as the original seat of the American Lieutenancy and its later successor the Eastern Lieutenancy.  Circling the edge of the medal is “Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.”

Each medal is 2" in diameter cast in bronze.
